In late 1988, the two friends Martin Groß & Christian Mader decide to start a band, in lack of anything better to do. Christian being already able to play three chords and Martin not yet, Christian becomes the Guitarist and Martin the Vocalist.
Using a four track recorder and a drum computer, they train their musical talent and eventually find a band of marry retainers for their serious, yet as for the results rather questionable efforts.
In 1990, Claudia Weckwerth, a former school mate of Martin's, designs a symbol for the band. Everybody is enthusiastic.
In the same year sixteen people travel to the Netherlands for New Year's Day, among them the entire band. As they go for a walk, Guido speaks of his idea to create a slide show for “Intro/Necrophilia”. In the years to follow it is to become the trademark of the band.
In early 1991, the band (formerly called “the Geld”) changes its name to “Midas Factory”. The choice was made with reference to Christian's lyrics for the song “Midas Factory”.
Recording sessions for a demo tape, which take place in the band's own rehearsal house in 1991, are followed by the first production of a CD in Olsztyn, Poland, two years later.
In 1994 the band gets to play at the R(h)einkultur festival in Bonn. Following this climax, a slow decline in intensity lead to several changes of band members and finally to the loss of the rehearsal room. Slow years were to follow, without the Band actually disintegrating.
By the year 2000, the quest for an original sound eventually leads to renting a new rehearsal room. The band leaves the area of Bonn and moves to Cologne.
Finally, in 2004, Guido Krebs and Martin Groß meet Robert Rasemann and Martin Klein. After the first session it is obvious that this is going to be the beginning of an intense musical and spiritual fellowship. After as little as eight rehearsals, recordings for a first demo have already begun.
From October 2005 upto August 2006 the Band has been working on his new Longplayer.
